Solutions for your computer

PC doesn’t boot up first time, CPU LED stays on. Second/third time booting up it all works fine

I have an issue with my refurbished computer. So every morning i press the power button the CPU will light up and everything seems to run smoothly however i dont get any display on the screen . and when i force shut down the computer and press power button again the computer turns on as normal. I’ve been having this issue for several months. After trying so many thing i have come up with a solution. It could be many reasons. i will try to breakdown each procedure i followed to remove this issue.

Computer specs:

HP 800 G2 SFF i5

Built in motherboard. No graphics card installed.

16GB DDR4 RAM

1. Control Panel:

First thing i tried was to go on control panel and disabled Fast start up.

To do this you need t search for control panel and search for ‘power options,

Then from the left menu select ‘choose what the power buttons do’

Click ‘Change settings that are currently unavailable’ and untick ‘Turn on fast startup. and restart the computer.

2. Removing external Hardware

If the problem still persist i would recommend removing all the external devices like USB, Wifi, Graphics card and try removing the RAM too.

Most of the time removing the Graphics card solves the problem.

If you are still facing the issue i would suggest Updating the operating system or replacing the Power supply. Because sometimes the power supply does not give enough power to spin the hard drive hence why the PC wont start.

I hope you find this article helpful. Please leave a comment of any suggestion you have.
